CANDY LANe QSM
Candy has spent her life training, competing, performing, choreographing and producing quality
entertainment both here and overseas. She began her training in New Zealand and by the age of 15
had won every title available to her. She travelled to London to further her training and represented
New Zealand for 10 years on the World Ballroom and Latin American dance circuit. At 18 Candy became
the youngest ever winner of the Australian and South Pacific Professional Championships and was the
first New Zealander to make both the Ballroom and Latin American finals in one of the most prestigious
events in dancing "The Rising Stars British Open to the World Championships".
A qualified adjudicator Candy has judged international and world events. As a coach she has been responsible for training many top competitive dancers.
Candy's other credits include playing the lead role in Leonard Bernstein's production of West Side Story
at her Majesty's Theatre in London and special performances for the Royal Family.
Candy established her own dance professional dance company, The Candy Lane Dancers, Candy’s vast experience and training has made the Candy Lane Dancers the most versatile and professional company
in the entertainment business.
Candy has been involved in choreographing Nz's Singing Bee, Stars In Their Eyes, X-Factor and New Zealand's Got Talent -but she is most well known for her role in New Zealand's own Dancing with the Stars as host, choreographer, dance director, guest performer and most recently the Head Judge.
Candy is proud to be an ambassador for Capezio. Capezio is one of the worlds' largest, oldest and most respected dancewear brands.
As well as running her dance studio, Candy specialises in teaching a variety of dance styles as well as training some of the top competitive Dancesport couples in Ballroom, Latin American and New Vogue.
